Kayaking is one of my favorite sporting activities. There are different levels of the kayaking sport and I’m definitely in the beginning one. People kayak for different reasons. There’s the extremest who enjoys the thrill and danger of white water, fast currents and waterfalls….that is not me. Then there’s the weekend trekker who kayaks the local rivers enjoying the views while steering clear of fallen trees and submerged logs as the current slowly drifts them downstream. Again, that’s not me either. I’m the bay runner. I love to kayak on the salty bay watching the dolphins, string rays, crabs, pelicans, herons, sea turtles and sharks swim along side of my kayak as I paddle or peddle (depending on which kayak I’m using) my way around the lagoon or bay or Intercostal Waterway (ICW). Spending a few hours or the entire morning or evening on the bay is just the best way to lose track of time and enjoy the moment. Come on along with me as I share some pictures and stories of a few adventures.
